What You Should Know about Referrals: Part One

What You Should Know about Referrals: Part One

As most Sellers know, designing products isn't the only way to make money on Zazzle. Here are some quick and easy answers to the most common questions about earning referrals:

1. How do I become a Zazzle Associate?

Anyone with a Zazzle account can participate in the Associate Referral program. You don't even have to make a store of your own. Just post links with your unique referral ID, and you'll earn a 15% referral fee for any purchase made up to 45 days after a customer clicks on your link. If the customer clicks a new referral link, the sale will go to the most recent referrer.

2. How do I find my Associate ID number?

You can locate your 18-digit referral ID in the Associates section of My Account. To add your Associate ID to a URL, you must use an rf code as follows: http://www.zazzle.com/yourchosenpage?rf=123456789987654321

Note that when making your own links, the number in the example should be replaced with your 18-digit Associate ID.

3. How do I refer people to my store?

There are two ways to link to your store. The first way is to add your rf code to the store URL like this: http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename?rf=123456789987654321. The second way to link to your store is to use the Zazzle Star.

4. How do I use the Zazzle Star?

Contrary to popular belief, the Zazzle Star does not need to be activated. Simply add an asterisk (*) to the end of your store name in any URL, and any referrals made from those links will be attributed to you. You can use the Zazzle Star to refer to your store, as well as to specific categories and product types within your store. While the Zazzle Star is a handy shortcut that you can use in place of your rf code, be sure to verify that it works wherever you are using it. Certain blogs, feed readers, and email clients may not recognize the star as a part of your URLs, and therefore won't link it properly. That said, be sure to use the Zazzle Star only in situations where you can verify that it works.

Here are the 4 ways that you can use the Zazzle Star:

- Link to your store
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*

- Link to a specific product type in your store
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*/tshirts#products
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*/speckcases#products
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*/embroidered+hats#products

- Link to a category in your store
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*/gift?cg=191919191919191919

- Link to a specific product type in a specific category in your store
http://www.zazzle.com/yourstorename*/tshirts?cg=191919191919191919#products

Please note that the 18-digit category numbers vary by store, so instead of writing the link manually, it is much easier to find the page in your browser, copy and paste the URL, and manually add the asterisk in the location shown above.

5. Can I refer products internationally?

You can earn referrals on any Zazzle International domain. Just link to your domain of choice and you'll earn a referral as long as the purchase is completed on that domain. You can find all Zazzle International sites on the Zazzle International Page.
