Get Your Green On!

Get Your Green On!

You may be gearing up to celebrate Valentine's Day this week, but don't forget that St. Patrick's Day is just a month away. If you haven't started adding St. Paddy's Day gear to your store, now is the time to begin. T-shirts and buttons are especially popular with all the leprechaun ladies and lads, so with a few Irish designs in your store, you may find yourself a pot o' gold!

Here are some tips and tricks for merchandising your St. Patrick's Day designs:

Be funny and be original! One popular design from last year was the Patty O' Furniture T-Shirt by glenndesigns. Make something that stands out this year, and you could be our new favorite!
If it works with your images, change your t-shirt display to show a green option instead of the default white. The basic lime green tee and the basic dark tee in deep forest green are especially nice options for unisex tees. Other favorites, just for ladies, are the white and green ringer and the 3/4 sleeve raglan. To change your default display, simply find the design on your public products page, click edit, and select "change style or model". Whatever shirt you choose, be sure to only change the default if it looks good with your design!
In addition to the color green, some popular design elements for St. Paddy's Day products include shamrocks, Irish flags, green beer, leprechauns, luck, and pots o' gold, so be sure to cover as many bases as you can so that shoppers have all of the best options.
Make your t-shirt designs stand out by changing your default model. Like changing your default product display, you can change your model and the model's pose from within your public products page. Some of the models have fun poses that might add some extra character to your designs, so be sure to play around.
Even if you don't create new designs this year, be sure to update your designs from years past. Not only will you want to change "2010" to "2011" in your designs and in your tags, but you'll also want to make sure that your prices are competitive with other designs in the marketplace.
Finally, the best way to sell your St. Paddy's Day designs is to promote 'til your are green. This means working on Facebook, Twitter, and on your blog to get the word out about your designs. Even if you don't design them, St. Patrick's Day t-shirts are still a great product to refer, so whip out your lucky charms and get to linking!

Not into green beer? Another way to go green in the coming months is to switch to paperless payments via PayPal. Not only is PayPal completely secure, but it makes it easier to transfer money directly into your bank account. You don't have to worry about your check getting lost in the mail, and you'll help the environment, too! Plus, starting in March, all earnings will be paid on the 14th of each month, so switch to PayPal and you'll receive same-day payments. Otherwise you'll have to wait an additional 3-5 business days to receive earnings checks in the mail.

As a special gift to any Seller who makes the switch to PayPal, we're offering $5 towards your next Zazzle purchase over $5. With the extra cash, you might finally be able to use your Zazzle earnings to buy that cool iPhone case that you've been eyeing since Christmas! Simply change your payment settings, click "Update" and you'll receive a promo code via email at the next pay period. If you have already signed up to receive your Zazzle earnings via PayPal and have received a PayPal payment from Zazzle in the past, then you will also receive this special gift.

Speaking of iPhone cases, Verizon is now selling the iPhone, meaning that loads of people will be searching for custom cases in the coming months. Zazzle's universal iPhone 4 cases work with both the Verizon and AT&T models, so be sure to update the tags on your iPhone 4 cases to include "universal", "Verizon" and "ATT" to ensure that shoppers find your designs!

Get Inspired!

Based on recent user trends, here are a few design ideas for the coming week:
