Spring Cleaning Starts Early!

Spring Cleaning Starts Early!

Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring this year, so we're getting prepared now for the upcoming season. Here are some quick spring cleaning tips that could increase your sales all year long!

1. Spruce up your product descriptions

Catch the customer's eye by adding something special to your product descriptions. Don't just describe what your product is; tell your customers how to use it! Grab their attention with a link to your personal website, or even embed your store's flash panel to advertise additional offerings. If you've designed a matching set of products (for weddings, for example), you can actually include thumbnail image links to each of those products with the help of the Link to This tool and a little knowledge of HTML. Whatever you decide to do, just remember to make it interesting.

2. Change your dates

If your products contain references to 2010, you need to update them ASAP. Even if your products are customizable, updating your templates to the appropriate year will keep shoppers from thinking that they're outdated. Graduation invitations are a good place to get started.

3. Fill out your profile

In addition to the basics, add testimonials, or even post a flash panel to your profile to tell shoppers a bit more about you and what's offered in your store. If you do decide to use a flash panel on your profile or product pages, just remember that it will only be for show since you can't earn referrals from links posted within the Zazzle site.

4. Update your payment settings

As we mentioned before, Zazzle's going green, so if you haven't switched to our paperless payments via PayPal, now's the time to do it. Not only will you receive $5 off your next order, but you will also receive your earnings payments precisely on the 14th of each month. If not for the free money, switch to PayPal to help save the planet! Simply change your payment settings, click "Update" and you'll receive a promo code via email at the next pay period. If you have already signed up to receive your Zazzle earnings via PayPal and have received a PayPal payment from Zazzle in the past, then you will also receive this special gift.

5. Add some new color

One of the easiest ways to revitalize your store is to change the color scheme. Pick colors that match your product offerings, or just choose something soothing to the eye. If you really want to be ahead of the curve, check out color forecasts for 2011 or play around with this color scheme designer recommended recently by Seller, FCACshelter. The first day of spring isn't for another month, but with these tips, we hope that you'll get a good head start in preparing for the season.
